Call or visit RIPTA RIDE Program or MTM to see if you qualify. MTM provides rides for Medicaid recipients, as well as Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Program/RI Works and Elderly Transportation Program (ETP). Or contact your individual private insurance provider to see if they will compensate your trip. Currently Direct Medical Transportation is contracted with United Health Care Insurence. 

MTM manages non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) services under Medicaid for the state of  Rhode Island. 

Organized through RIPTA, they provide rides wherever needed - not limited to medical appointments - to those who are unable to drive or take public transit. Individuals must contact the RIDE program to see if they can qualify. Companies such as ourselves contract with the program. 

All drivers have completed all necessary licensing requirements to operate public motor vehicles in the state of Rhode Island. In addition, our drivers are PASS (Passenger Assistance Safety & Sensitivity) certified and undergo regular drug testing. Rest easy knowing you're in safe hands.

Insurance:

• Booked through MTM for Medicaid, (TANF) or (ETP) recipients

• Many Private Insurance Companies will cover your rides, call your individual provider to see if you can through us! Direct Medical is now able to accept United Health Care incurence. 

Private Pay:

• Completely flexible to your private transportation needs - short or long distance, wheelchair/ stretcher, or passenger van we have you covered.

No! While "medical" is in our name, our fleet of vehicles and staff are happy to accommodate individual or group trips to just about anywhere you'd need to go. Long or short distance, wheelchair/ stretcher accessible or passenger van - rest easy knowing you're in good hands with us.  

Our largest van (15 passenger) is able to accommodate up to 13 client passengers due to CDL regulations. Perfect for private groups, companies or medical facilities which require transportation for their clients. Our wheelchair/ stretcher accessible van can accomodate 2 wheechairs or 1 wheelchair and 1 stretcher at a time.
